The Art of Stained Glass bridges the touch of human hands, the brilliance of sunlight that suddenly bursts into color, and the realm of imagination. By shaping glass, harmonizing its transparency, hues, textures, and layers, we craft poetic worlds for you. Our passion lies in bringing to life or restoring the wonder of radiant light, endlessly shifting and enchanting, wherever it may be.
Trained by master glassmaker Michel Durand, Lavina Scappaticci established her own studio in 1996 in Choisy-le-Roi (Val-de-Marne). In turn, Lavina passed on her expertise to her daughter, Emmanuelle Felzine, who took over the workshop under her own name in 2018. Together, they share a unified vision of the art of stained glass: a practice rooted in the balance between heritage and innovation, blending traditional glassworking techniques with creative exploration.
Their expertise, coupled with a great sensitivity, lends itself to all evolutions of stained glass, from the medieval period to the present day. The workshop, composed of a team of 3 to 10 people, takes on a wide range of projects and adapts to all configurations: restoration of historic monuments, with the utmost respect for the original works; contemporary creations designed to enhance both public and private heritage; decorative work (panels, skylights, windows…) to beautify and illuminate interior spaces. Emmanuelle and Lavina enjoy designing unique pieces, tailor-made for communities, businesses, and private clients.
“Sharing knowledge is essential to us. It is a source of mutual enrichment and has, from the very beginning, created a bond between generations.”
Lavina and Emmanuelle surround themselves with talented artisans, often trained by them, to meet all requests, from original creations to historical restorations. Their approach combines imagination, tradition, and an attention to detail that ensures unique works of art.
The Atelier Vitrail Felzine is also a space dedicated to the introduction to the art of stained glass. Each week, in partnership with the CCAT association and the city of Choisy-le-Roi, leisure classes and workshops for children allow this unique craftsmanship to be passed on. These initiatives create strong bonds with students and enthusiasts, some of whom continue this practice year after year.
